One easy evening in Marina Bay
Satay at Lau Pa Sat, the blue line 1 stop to Bayfront, then two free light shows. Kid friendly, no rushing.
7:00pm · Satay at Lau Pa Sat
The road beside Lau Pa Sat closes at night and the satay stalls come out. Get chicken and mutton, plus rice cakes (ketupat) for the kids. Lots of stalls will try to get your business. Honestly, they're all just as good. If it's packed, go with them and they'll find you a table. If not, just grab your own, no pressure.
After dinner · Blue line, 1 stop
From Downtown MRT, take the blue line one stop to Bayfront. That's Marina Bay Sands. Walking there takes about 25 minutes, not fun with tired kids. Just tap your bank card at the gantry, no need to buy a ticket.
8pm or 9pm · Spectra at Marina Bay Sands
A free light, water and music show over the bay, about 15 minutes. Sit on the steps at the Event Plaza in front of MBS. There are shows at 8pm and 9pm, so if the kids eat slowly, no need to rush. Just catch the 9pm one.
8:45pm · Supertree lights at Gardens by the Bay
Walk through MBS to the Supertree Grove (around 15 minutes). Lie down on the ground and look up. Free, and kids love it. This works if you caught the 8pm Spectra. Went for 9pm? Save the Supertrees for another night.
